I so wish I had known about “The Silent Bob coat” in time to get it for Ferretwench for the holidays. Of course, she’s allergic to wool, so wearing it wouldn’t have been a real option for her, but she would have just flipped.
But what I was able to get for her (in addition to the little things I can’t mention here because they’d ruin the surprise), was a new look for her site. I photoshopped up a title bar, revamped the template with some CSS, and even designed a background image for her links column (purple ferret paw prints, just her style). It wasn’t a huge amount of work, a day or two of sitting in front of the computer (which I do everyday anyway). But it made her smile, and that’s what I was going for all along.
Check it out, I’m pretty proud of it. After all of the work I’ve been doing on my own redesign, which is a bit more complex (and which is causing me a few problems in the IE compatability area), it’s cool to actually get a design up and on-line.
And then, hopefully, my brother will have my new artwork for the site when the fam’ gets together on Wednesday. Then I’ll be just that much closer to throwing aside my plain-jane template for a look that’s more “me”.
