She said "Yes"!

Okay, she actually said “Yes” almost a month and a half ago. But she still said “yes”, and I’m still elated about it.

Halloween morning, over a candlelit breakfast, Eli and I shared our resolutions for the new year (Halloween/Samhain marks the end of the pagan year). I told her that I had resolved to never again live without her, that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. Then, with shaking hands, I pulled out the ring and asked her to marry me.

She shrieked. She held her hand over her mouth and with wide eyes looked back and forth between me and the ring. Then she started nodding. She said “yes”! Or rather, she squeaked “yes”. I put the ring on her finger and kissed her and it was official. We’re getting married.

the engagement ring

I know I’ve waited quite some time to write about it. But can you blame me for wanting to bask in it for a while? We’ve told all of our close friends and family. We’ve showed off the ring (it’s it pretty?). And now we’re blogging it, telling the world (or what small part of the world that constitutes our small readerships) how happy we are.

And now, I could go on a ranting tangent about politics, legality, and the like, but I won’t. Let’s just take a few moments to bask.

TTFN…

    Congratulations!

    Got a date set yet?

And when do I get to finally meet your chicky-poo? I keep hearing about how great she is, but I’ve never met her.

Oh, right. It’s hard to meet people from Buffalo… Nevermind.
