Last Friday was Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.
Amongst our many activities for the day, E and I took the bus to Minnehaha Park (a 6-minute bus ride and about 5 blocks to walk, total), and spent a few hours tooling around. First we rented a side-by-side two-seater bike, then we took a lengthy walk from the top of the falls down to a place where we could swing our feet in the creek and on back to the central park area and home by bus again.
As usual, I took scads of photos. Here are just a few (after the jump).
You can click on each thumbnail to view larger versions of the photos, plus you can leave individual comments on each photo’s page, if you are so inclined (or comment on this page, of course).
I’m releasing all of these photos, and all other photos and art on this site (unless indicated otherwise) under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works license. So feel free to share them with others provided you credit me, don’t make any money off of them, and don’t turn them into something else (like cards, t-shirts, etc.). Enjoy!

I love your photos! Thanks so much for sharing! This is a bit like déjà vu, in that they are so similar to photos I used to take in the early 70s–lots of nature shots, close-ups of interesting plants, lots of waterfalls–remember the Temperance? Anyway, you seem to have the same eye I did at the same age. I’m so proud. They’re really lovely! Someday, when I get my photos all scanned, you’ll see the similarity.

Happy Solstice, a little late!

These are beautiful. You do good work, woman! The leg/foot picture–at first I thought Elizabeth’s feet were on backwards, but then I realized that it’s your foot and her foot. Whew!
