Slipping away a bit at a time…

I’ve had this article by Terry Pratchet, about his Alzheimer’s, up on my tabs for a couple of weeks now. I hadn’t read it before, but am very glad to have read it now.

Two weeks ago, it would have just been an interesting article about one of my favorite articles. But now… well, now I’ve found out that my grandmother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In fact, it sounds a lot like thse same kind of Alzheimer’s that Pratchet has, posterior cortical atrophy, “the best form of Alzheimer’s to have”.

I’m still sorting out my feelings about my grandmother’s diagnosis, and how I can be there for her. It’s shocking and scary. And I’m a little lost. But this article mad eme smile, to know that someone “big” is trying to get more research done on this. A good read.
