Link dump for February 11th, 2009 through February 18th, 2009:

  • Women's History Month facts – Just when you thought things were starting to get a little more equal… "The median annual earnings of women 16 or older who worked year-round, full time, in 2007 was $34,278, up from $33,648 in 2006 (after adjusting for inflation). Women earned 77.5 cents for every $1 earned by men."
  • Chocolate: A Food Without Borders – I need to try all of these recipes. And I'd love to have a chocolate sampling party. Oh, and the article is good is pretty good, too. :)
  • Darwin Day – What a great way to start Witch Camp, on Darwin Day! I know some people will think it's more than a little weird that I think witchcraft and the grand-daddy of evolutionary science are a good mix. But you gotta know that the wife and I hold science in the highest regard in our spiritual practice. Of course, that's a bigger topic than I can get into here (Hmm, a longer blog post? What a novel idea!)
  • Agreement announced on stimulus package – ' "The middle ground we've reached creates more jobs than the original Senate bill and costs less than the original House bill," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.'
  • The myth of voter fraud – Mary Kiffmeyer should know better. During her tenure as secretary of state she was unable to document any serious or widespread voter fraud. If fraud did exist, there is no indication that the current laws are ill-equipped to address the problem.
