About me

I am in desperate need of a new “About” page, but haven’t had the energy to rewrite and update the very lengthy page from my old site (actually, from two iterations ago of this site). So here’s the short version.

Self Portrait, Leora Effinger-Weintraub

The artist and blogger, at her desk

I’m a thirty-something artist and pagan living in South Minneapolis, Minnesota. My wife and I share our adorable home with two furry balls of energy named Mister Brown (10 points to anyone who can guess who we named him after) and Cassia. We are, amazingly enough, happy.

I wish I had more time to do everything, including write about myself and post to this site. It’s sad how sporadic my posts have gotten over the past few years. But I’ve had this site for nearly seven years now, so I’m simply unwilling to quit altogether. When I get around to posting, I usually post my photography, adventures in good food, thoughts about my spirituality, and interesting tidbits from around the web. Most often though, I’ve been posting my photography, taken throughout Minneapolis and environs, and anywhere else I can bring my camera. This photographic focus was the inspiration for my most recent site redesign: to give my art a solid platform upon which to shine.

More information will, perhaps, follow…
