Leora the Sane

Courtesy of Spoonflower, I will soon be the proud owner of two yards of fabric of my own design. I’m kind of giddy about it, actually.

I just got my invite to get a beta account last night, and I spent the evening tweaking one of my knotwork designs into a seamless pattern (which took some time figuring out, but is actually much easier than the amount of time it took me would make it seem).

A little more tweaking tonight, and some feedback from my darling bride, and I have now placed my first order (see swatch at right, it’ll tile for the full 42″ width and 2 yard length).

Now if only I knew what to make with it….

I’ve got ideas in my head for more large-scale designs, like for a full yard panel, but this design is a much more standard fabric pattern kind of thing. Maybe a purse, maybe a skirt, maybe a pillow. Knowing me, I’ll probably be paralyzed with indecision and never actually make anything. Except with this, I can always order more if I decide I need to make something different, can’t I?
