Leora the Sane

A little gallery of some of my favorite photos from our trip to Chicago at the end of December. We had a lovely time, as many of you probably read over at my wife’s journal. I definitely want to go back, maybe when it’s sunny and not quite so… winter.

But even with the winter weather (which was not even half as cold as what we had left behind here in the Twin Cities), we had a ton of fun walking all over the city. Next time we’ll have to see more of our Chicago friends and get outside of the Loop to see more sites. Recommendations welcome.

Last night, we decided to build a little fire, since it was so gorgeous outside.

Amazingly enough, this is actually the first time we’ve done this since we moved in over two years ago. We’ve always had fires with friends before now. While the fire building was not quite as smooth without our expert friends (thank you, Doc!), I have gotten better enough over the years by watching others that I managed to get a nice little blaze going (thank you again, Doc!), and we have vowed to do this more often. Just the two of us. It was lovely!

We completed the labyrinth! At long last, and just in time for last weekend’s party.

Here are some pictures of the labyrinth completed. We were able to not only finish construction, but also set up our planned altars within the labyrinth (the central altar and altars surrounding the priestess point, one for each direction/element). This has truly been a labour of love, creating such a sacred space here on our land. Hard work, but more than worth it.

We are making more progress on the labyrinth, slowly but surely. We were slowed down considerably by preparations for Convergence, and we got a little less work done this weekend than we had hoped since I’m still recovering from the cold I caught at Convergence. But it’s going well, all the same. We hope to have it comepleted within the next couple of weeks, in time for my birthday party in mid-August by the latest (since this year I’m planning a large-ish bash complete with outdoors-y-ness).
